2008 Kub Kar Rally Overview:

This year's Kub Kar Rally, Niagara Area 2008, will be run the same as last year.

The 6th Niagara Cub Pack is coordinating this year’s registration. With the change of the District to the new Area, we thought it would be good idea to change our Kub Kar Rally back to the old ways and put the Out back into Scouting

This year's Kub Kar Rally will be held at the Center Court in the Niagara Square with races starting on Monday February 18th. 2008 until the Finals on Saturday February 23rd  2008. Weeknight registrations will start at 6:30pm, we ask that the contact leader register the entire pack, and races will begin at 7:00pm. On Saturday, registration will start at 9:30am with races beginning at 10:30am.

We are asking that the Groups ensure they have enough people to run 1 track during their evening race.

This event is open to all Cub Packs in Niagara Area. We are also offering area Beaver Groups to run their Beaver Buggies during the week from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30pm.

Please note we are ONLY running 2 packs per night on a First Come First Served Bases, so sign up quickly to get your time slot.

A little History on past Kub Kar Rally format:

Many years ago, Niagara District ran many Kub Kar Rally’s, at the Niagara Square. The Groups participated during their meeting nights in which the youth ran their Kars in either Heavy or Lightweight categories in a double knockout elimination heat. Each group was allowed to send a maximum of 10 boys per weight class. The Top 5 racers from each night in each category would compete on Saturday to race for the championships.
In the past, the Show Kars would also participate during the meeting nights, in which each group sent 1 boy per category. The top Show Kar in each category during the weeknights would qualify to compete on Saturday.  We allow all participants during the week to decide if they wish to put their cars in show or race on Saturday if they qualify.

Our vision for 2008's Kub Kar Rally:

We ran the Rally similar to the way we did in the past. The Groups will participate during the week on their meeting nights. The youth raced their Kars in a double knockout elimination heat. Packs signed up via the Internet and were allowed to run a maximum of half their Pack size per weight category. The top 5 racers from each night in each weight category competed on Saturday for the Championship.

Any youth that did not race were given the option of showing their Kars on Saturday.

Top 10 racer's from each weight class go on to the Battlefields Regional Kub Kar Race.
